Last month, we brought you Lisa’s favorite healthy eats in Venice (plus her go-to orders). Now, Lisa reveals her current shopping splurges. Think of it as the last-minute holiday gift guide you’ve been looking for. Okay, I admit, I have tiny shopping problem, and I have become addicted mostly to online shopping since I spend most of my time working. While some may say it’s a little indulgent, I take no shame in saying that it is important to me to feel good in what I am wearing, whether it’s my workout clothing or what I wear to dinner (and sometimes they are one in the same!). Here’s a little peek at the fun stuff I couldn’t resist this month. The best part? Most of these items are available at The Studio (MDR), so it's one-stop shopping!
The Neshama Project. Ever since I met Rachelle Tratt, the creator and designer of the Neshama Project, these little hamsa necklaces have been one of my every day “have to put on” pieces. The eye catching opal stone hung on a delicate chain dresses up every outfit, from what I wear when I’m walking the dogs to the long dresses I love wearing in the evening. This is a piece I continuously get compliments on and love to wear at all times. The hamsa is supposed to bring peace, and I like to think it has definitely helped me stay sane throughout my crazy-busy days. Plus when you buy one, 10% of all proceeds support one of The Neshama Project's partner charities that you get to choose at check out if you buy on Rachelle’s site.
Shine on Sierra Leone Shine on Sierra Leone is a charity started by Tiffany Persons in an effort to support Sierra Leone. The money donated helps the people there maintain self-sustaining businesses that benefit and provide sufficient profits for the local communities. This winter at The Studio (MDR), we’re selling hand-woven scarves and 100% of the proceeds will go to this organization, which will give all of the money directly to a Sierra Leone girls’ school. I am in love with the colors in these scarves, especially rich reds and deep blues. Their original style, warm muffler like quality, and giving-back sentiment have me buying 100! Show your support and buy at least one!
Beyond Yoga & Michi When I am getting ready for a day at The Studio (MDR), I always throw on some of the Beyond Yoga Collection. This winter I have been wearing the super-warm long leggings in both plum wine and teal. Not only is the fabric so soft, the leggings aren’t see-through and they’re so warm! Plus, the earth tones warm up my look when I put on my black puffer. Another MUST this winter are the MICHI Luna leggings that we sell at The Studio (MDR)! They are so fabulous! I saw one of our clients wearing them and I raced online to purchase them for the studio. They are the perfect blend of unique and sexy. I may even wear them out later.
J-Crew When I’m looking to have a fun night out with my friends, I wear these gold J-crew shoes. They go with everything and anything and always put me in a party mood!
BKR Water Bottle Drinking enough water has always been a challenge for me, but having my heart BKR bottle helps me remember to down my H2O. I love the BKR water bottle in storm with the pink heart.
Garmin Watch I don’t run, but maybe I will now with this watch!
Commando Tights Staying warm can be tricky, even in sunny California. I am in LOVE with these commando tights. They have a Spanx-like quality but aren’t too thick. Everyone needs a million pairs.
Paleta Shopping for food is one of my most neglected activities, and that is why I LOVE Paleta meals. Shopping on Paleta is super easy; I tell them my dietary restrictions, what I like and don’t like, and they somehow always send me EXACTLY what I want.
SHOES! Its always high bootie season for me (and I mean that in regards to The Studio (MDR) as well as my feet – ha!) and Minnetonkas have never gone out of style!
Jo Malone I am totally a sucker for anything that smells delicious… especially when it's Jo Malone nectarine fragrance. Smells like heaven.
If it’s monogrammed, it has my name on it. Literally. I love anything and everything that is personalized. Napkins, towels, handbags … Longchamp totes. They make great gifts … hint hint!
